Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to sign another Portuguese player, Hodrigo Gomes (21, Braga).
“Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed flanker Hodrigo Gomes after a fierce battle with a number of clubs,” The Athletic reported on Tuesday.
Gomes is a young Portuguese player born in 2003. He is a versatile midfielder who plays primarily on the flanks and can play on either wing, midfield, or fullback. He can also play in the center of the attacking second line if needed.
Gomes made his professional debut with SC Braga in the 2020-2021 season and went on to make 51 official appearances in the first half of the 2022-2023 season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
He then went on loan to GD Estoril Praia in the same league. Gomes played a total of 36 games (2,447 minutes) for the club, including 30 league games (2,939 minutes), 안전놀이터 scoring nine goals and providing eight assists.
Gomes is a resource with distinct strengths and weaknesses.
His defensive involvement and concentration are excellent, and he is a threat with his key passes to the frontline strikers. On the downside, he struggles with ball possession, shooting, and competing for aerial balls, and his crosses aren’t great.

Hwang emerged as Wolverhampton’s main man last season, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists in 31 official appearances, including 29 in the league. He was a threat from both wing-forward positions as well as up front, causing problems for opposing defenses.
