“I want to be like Kim Sun-hyung.”
On the 9th, the Seo-gu National Sports Center Gymnasium in Seo-gu, Incheon, hosted the 2024 Life Sports Basketball Club League Youth Division. The tournament was organized by the Korea Sports Federation and the Incheon Seo-gu Sports Council, and managed by the Incheon Seo-gu Basketball Association. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Organization were the financial sponsors.
The tournament was won by Namyangju Samsung. They took home the trophy with a 37-13 victory over 홀덤 Bucheon Samsung, who they met in the final.

Namyangju Samsung’s Kim Jin-hwan was named MVP of the tournament. “I’m grateful to all my teammates,” said Kim. I’m grateful to the coach for believing in me and playing me. I’m also grateful to my parents who helped me a lot. I think we were able to win because everyone on the team played as well as they were capable of. I will try to win the MVP in the next tournament as well,” he said after winning the title and MVP.
Kim Jin-hwan, who is currently in the third grade, is very interested in basketball. “I started playing basketball when I was in fifth grade. My older brother started playing first, but he asked me to join him, so I did. It was fun because the offense and defense were systematic, and it was fun to play a lot,” he said.
Kim Jin-hwan also said, “I want to be like Kim Sun-hyung. He seems to be good at all aspects of basketball, and he’s handsome (laughs). I want to get better at everything in the future, especially shooting,” he said.
