‘It’s crazy’ Women’s Football Federation announces Hyundai Steel-Urawa Ladies Club Championship final day updates

The Korea Women’s Football Association’s announcement on Tuesday that the championship final between Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels and Urawa Red Ladies (Japan) will be played on the same day as the championship final, raises questions about poor administration.

Hyundai Steel will face Urawa Red Ladies in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Club Championship final on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Urawa Komaba Stadium in Saitama, Japan.

Established in 2019, the AFC Women’s Club Championship is a test event for the AFC Women’s Champions League, which is scheduled to be launched in the 2024-2025 season, and the league champions from eight countries, including Korea, Australia and Japan, 온라인카지노 were divided into two groups of four teams and played the group stage last November.

Hyundai Steel, last season’s WK League champions, participated in the tournament and topped Group B with wins over Sydney FC (Australia), Bam Khatun FC (Iran), and FC Nasaf (Uzbekistan).

After the group stage, Group B champion Hyundai Steel and Group A champion Urawa advanced to the final. However, the AFC canceled the final for no clear reason and then recently notified the two teams and their respective leagues that the final would be held.

While the final was rescheduled at short notice, the bigger issue is that Hyundai Steel announced the date on its social media on the 9th, a day before the final, while the Women’s Korea Football Association, which governs the WK League, announced the date on the 10th, the day of the game, on its website and through a press release.

In response to the delay, the federation reportedly explained that it was unexpected due to the short notice from the AFC.

Japan’s WE League, on the other hand, had already announced in March that the final would not be held, and on March 25, the league announced the rescheduled date and venue of the final through its official channel.
