‘I take care of Seonggol Youth, born in 2005’ Son Heung-min’s personality shines again

Tottenham Hotspur’s promising midfielder Jamie Donley has revealed the advice he received from Son Heung-min.

“Donley opened up about Son’s advice and his plans to catch the attention of manager Enze Postecoglou at Tottenham,” Football London reported on Friday (June 25).

Donli is Tottenham’s favorite success story. Born in 2005, the 19-year-old joined the Tottenham youth team in 2013 and has steadily progressed through the ranks. This season, Donley has four goals and nine assists in 10 appearances for the U-21s and two goals and three assists in three games in the EFL Trophy.

He also made his first-team debut. Donley came on for Brennan Johnson in second-half stoppage time in the Premier League (PL) clash with Manchester City last December. He followed that up with substitute appearances against Newcastle United and Brentford. In January, he played seven minutes in the third round of the English FA Cup against Burnley.

Donley is a resource in the attacking midfield role with his footwork, vision, and passing ability. He is a very good reader of the game and has excellent off-the-ball movement, and he is also good at moving around the ball to increase the numbers game.

He could be a key part of Tottenham’s attack in the future. Donley told Football London: “(Being in the first team) is unbelievable. Obviously, I’m a Tottenham fan, but I have to keep going. I want to be a starter,” he said.

Donli hasn’t forgotten the game against City, which was his professional debut. “I was very nervous, especially when I got to play in that match. I was scared, but after the match I was happy. It was very good for me,” he recalls.

“He may not talk that much on the training ground, but he sees everything,” Donli said of Postecoglou, “He’s a very good talker. When I train there, he tells me that I need to be there every day.”

Donley’s research focuses on James Madison. They play in similar 토토 positions. “I’ve been playing a lot in midfield this season, so I’ve been paying attention to players like Madison,” Donley said, “but to be honest, I look up to all of them because they’re the best.”

There is also another player who has made a big impression on Donley. That would be captain Son Heung-min. “He’s unbelievable, he’s always smiling and he helps me a lot. He helps me in training and tells me what he thinks. He is very kind to me,” he thumbs up.

“He helps me to be calmer and more composed when I’m in front of the goal. He tells me to take an extra touch on the ball if I need to. It’s a simple thing, it’s not a big thing, but it’s advice like that. These things will definitely help me,” he added.
