Taiwan has welcomed Japan’s decision to highlight China’s military threat in its defense white paper, saying it will continue to promote security cooperation with Japan and others.
In a press briefing, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense said that when asked about its stance on this year’s defense white paper, which was recently released by the Japanese government, it “highly appreciates the stance that the international community continues to pay attention to the security of the Taiwan Strait,” Taiwan’s Yonhap News Agency reported today.
“We will continue to strengthen our defense posture and promote military and security cooperation with countries with similar ideologies to jointly respond to Chinese threats,” the ministry added.
