The Korea Archery Association announced on the 7th that it will hold the 3rd selection competition for the 2024 national archery team at the Gwangju International Archery Range for six days from the 9th to the 14th.

20 men and women from Recurve who went through the first and second selection rounds last year and four people who only held the Taegeuk mark last year will compete for the national title this year.

In the third round of selection, all participating players will start from scratch. This is a method in which all recorded matches, tournaments, and league matches are played, and points are allocated according to each ranking.

It will be held over a total of 6 rounds, and based on the results of rounds 1 to 3, 16 people will be eligible to participate in rounds 4 to 6 in order of performance. After all 6 rounds are completed, the top 8 players for both men and women, based on their final scores, will qualify for this year’s national team.

While 2020 Tokyo Olympics 3-gold winner Ansan (Gwangju Bank) and 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games 3-gold winner Im Si-hyun (Korea National Sport University) are expected to perform well, interest is also focused on the performance of Yeom Hye-jung (Kyung Hee University) and Seo Bo-eun (Sunchon National University), who are aiming for their first national team title. .

In the men’s division, Oh Jin-hyuk (Hyundai Steel), Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City Hall), and Kim Je-deok (Yecheon County Office), who won the gold medal in the men’s team event at the Tokyo Olympics, will participate and challenge for the national team title once again. Athletes selected through the third round of selection will be able to participate in the final entry for the Paris Olympics through two final evaluation matches held in March and April. Three recurve men and women each will go to the Olympics.
