Shin Yubin (Korean Air) returned home after winning the gold medal for Korean table tennis in the women’s doubles at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, partnering with Jeon Jeon-hee (Mirae Asset Securities).
Shin returned home via Incheon International Airport on the afternoon of the 8th.
Dressed in a light yellow windbreaker and a light pink backpack on her back, the “Pee-wee” smiled brightly at dozens of table tennis officials and fans waiting for her at the arrival gate.
Clutching a bouquet of flowers, she wore all four of her medals – one gold and three bronze (women’s team, mixed doubles and women’s singles) – around her neck before removing them for the rest of the interview, saying they were “too heavy.”
“My goal was to win a medal at the Asian Games, but I’m so happy and grateful to have won medals in every event,” she said, adding, “I’m happy that I didn’t have any regrets about my performance, and it turned out well.”
The world No. 1 pair of Shin Yoo-bin and Jeon Jeon-hee became the first Korean pair to win an Asian Games gold medal in 21 years when they won the women’s doubles title on Feb. 2.
Shin then traveled to Lanzhou, China, 카지노사이트 to compete in the World Table Tennis (WTT) Star Contender, where she and Jeon again reached the final of the women’s doubles event, but she strained her back during her singles round of 16 match and, after consulting with her coaches, opted to withdraw and return home to avoid aggravating the injury.
“I felt pain during the match, and I wanted to prevent further injury and prepare for the next match,” said Shin. “My sisters on the team were very concerned and advised me to take good care of myself,” she said.
“Every athlete has this kind of injury,” she said, adding, “I will try to manage it so that it doesn’t get worse and train harder.”
“If the Asian Games had been held last year, I wouldn’t have been able to compete, but when the opportunity came, I played without regret,” said Shin Yubin. “The focus of every athlete changes in big competitions, so it was a great experience to prepare for important competitions in the future,” he said, adding, “I will continue to improve with my good performance.”
When asked about her heart-and-arrow ceremony after winning gold in the women’s doubles at the Asian Games, she laughed shyly, saying, “I had already thought of it the day before in case I won.”
“I still don’t know if I’ll be able to compete in Paris,” she said, “but I’ll work hard and prepare well so that I don’t have any regrets.”
After Lanzhou, Shin will take a break in Korea, withdrawing from the WTT Contender Muscat in Oman and the WTT Contender Antalya in Turkkiye, which runs through Nov. 22.
After improving his form in Korea, Shin will compete at the WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023 in Germany from Sept. 29. 무료슬롯게임
