The Korea National Under-18 Baseball Team has won its final group game of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Baseball World Cup (U-18 World Youth Championship) against Puerto Rico.The Korean team, coached by Lee Young-bok (Chungam-go), defeated Puerto Rico 8-1 in Group A of the tournament in Taichung, Taiwan, on Sunday morning.The game resumed this morning in the same conditions after a rain delay in the third inning of the previous day’s 5-1 win over Puerto Rico.South Korea’s second pitcher, Kim Taek-yeon (Incheon High School), earned the win with a complete-game shutout, striking out seven and not allowing a runner on base in three innings.South Korea, which advanced to the Super Round with a 4-1 record in Group A to finish second in the group behind Chinese Taipei (5-1), will take on Group B runner-up Japan (4-1) in the first game of the Super Round this afternoon.In Pool A, Chinese Taipei, South Korea and Puerto Rico (3W-2L) advanced to the Super Round, while Pool B featured the United States, Japan and the Netherlands (4W-1L).Chinese Taipei, the only undefeated team in the group, came into the Super Round with two wins against each other, while South Korea started with a 1-1 record.Pool results in the Super Rounds will determine the finalists and the 스포츠토토 third- and fourth-place finishers.
