Ace Heo Hoon shoots for only 20 points for both teams

Led South Korea to a 95-55 (20-8 30-23 22-13 23-11) victory over Indonesia in their opening Group D
matchup at 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Zhejiang University’s Zijin River Campus in Hangzhou, China,
carrying a dominant head-to-head record from their previous three games into today’s contest.

Indonesia struggled a bit with the Korean offense. Chu Il-seung-ho scored 20 points in the first quarter,
while Indonesia only managed eight.
The tide reversed in the second quarter. Korea continued their offense with Moon Jung-hyun, Kim Jong-

In the third quarter, Korea took the lead again. Indonesia’s focus was on the second quarter. Not only was

With just over a minute to go in the fourth quarter, South Korea had stretched the gap between the two teams to 30 points. They took the lead early. With just over two minutes left in the game, Korea dominated Indonesia, with every player on the roster getting into the scoring column. They extended their lead to 40 points with 1:38 left.

Was the only other explosive player on either side of the ball, scoring 20 points in just 11 minutes of action. Kim Jong-kyu finished with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, and he was particularly sharp from the free throw line, shooting 100% on the night. Ragan added 12 points and nine rebounds.
South Korea will be looking for its first gold medal in nine years at the tournament. They haven’t won gold since Incheon 2014. They won the bronze medal at the last edition in Jakarta-Palembang 2018. As if to shake off the disappointment of the last tournament, the South Koreans put on a dominant performance in their first match of the tournament.
