‘Wilkerson gets two wins, two home runs’ LOTTE defeats KIA 7-1 for second straight win

The Lotte Giants of the Korean Baseball Organization have won two straight games.

Lotte won 7-1 at home against the KIA Tigers of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan on Nov. 11.

The win was Lotte’s second straight and improved their record to 46 wins and 50 losses. KIA, on the other hand, suffered its second straight loss, falling to 44 wins, two ties, and 45 losses.

Lotte struck first with two home runs: Ahn Chi-hong’s solo shot in the bottom of the first inning and Jeong Hoon’s solo shot in the bottom of the second inning to make it 2-0.

In the bottom of the fifth, Lotte scored again. After Son Sung-bin singled, Ahn Chi-hong singled with the bases loaded and an error by the center fielder allowed one more runner to come home.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, LOTTE scored a run on Kim Min-seok’s RBI single with runners on first and second after Jung Hoon walked and stole second, and completed the 5-0 score on Son Sung-bin’s RBI single with runners on first and second after Noh Jin-hyuk’s bunt single.

KIA got one run back in the top of the seventh when Ko Jong-wook singled with two outs after Socrates Brito doubled.

However, Lotte’s momentum was strong. In the bottom of the eighth, Jung Hoon singled, Kim Min-seok reached on an error, and with runners on second and third, Noh Jin-hyuk hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score one run and Son Sung-bin singled to make it 7-1. The game ended in favor of Lotte.

Starting pitcher Aaron Wilkerson earned his second win of the season with six innings of six-hit ball.

At the plate, Ahn Chi-hong went 4-for-3 with 메이저사이트 a home run and one RBI, Kim Min-seok went 2-for-4 with a home run and one RBI, and Son Sung-bin went 4-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

KIA was unable to secure the win despite starting pitcher Thomas Pannoni giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits in five innings, as the bats went silent.
