Kim Hae-Sung stole his 22nd multi-hit game, tying Shin-Soo Choo’s record

Kim Ha-Sung is one steal away from the record for most stolen bases in a season by a Korean hitter

San Diego Padres outfielder Ha-seong Kim is one steal away from becoming the most stolen bases in a season by a Korean player in history.

Kim went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, an RBI, and a stolen base in the leadoff spot in the lineup against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, USA.

This extended his hitting streak to eight games and raised his season batting average to .281 from .279.

With his 22nd stolen base of the season, Kim tied the all-time record for most stolen bases in a season by a Korean hitter set by Choo Shin-soo (SSG Rangers) in 2010.

After a walk in the first inning, Kim was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out in the third inning.

Kim produced a hit in his next at-bat. In the fifth inning, with runners on first and second with the team trailing 1-0, he reached on an infield single.

The next batter, Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a grounder to the first baseman to get Ha-Sung Kim out at second, but Luis Camposano scored from third.

In the bottom of the seventh, after a grounder to third base, Kim drove in a run in his final at-bat. With runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth inning and his team leading 7-4, he singled up the middle to end the threat.

Kim then stole second base to join Choo Shin-soo in the Tatis junior at-bat. If he adds another stolen base in the remaining games, he will set a new record for most stolen bases in a season by a Korean hitter.

San Diego won 8-5 behind a multi-homer game from Juan Soto and a strong performance from Ha-Sung Kim. San Diego (53-55), 한국야동 which avenged a loss the day before (3-4), remained in fourth place in the National League West.
