Tottenham should sign a quality winger

Tottenham should sign a quality winger, according to the British newspaper The Guardian.

The Guardian published a preview of Tottenham’s 2024-2025 season on Saturday. Tottenham will kick off the 2024-2025 Premier League season on Jan. 20 against Leicester City in the first round of the Premier League.

As The Guardian put it, “Spurs are ready to start again. Their main aim for the new season is to break into the top four for the first time in three years and cement their place among Europe’s elite.

Returning to the Champions League is the most important goal.

Tottenham finished eighth in the Premier League in the 2022-2023 season. The club hired Enze Postecoglou as head coach. Postecoglou played an attacking style of soccer and led Spurs to fifth place in the 2023-2024 season. They failed to return to the Champions League, but qualified for the Europa League just below.

The Guardian says: “Spurs have attracted attention with the signing of striker Dominic Solanke, who scored 19 goals in the Premier League last season. They have also brought in two 18-year-olds in Archie Gray and Lucas Verbal.

Gray and Verbal are midfield options, but they are still young.

They need to adapt and prove themselves in the Premier League.

Solanke is the only real plus point. No central midfielders, backup center backs, or backup full backs were signed.

The Guardian also suggests that Spurs need to add to their squad.

The Guardian says: “Tottenham need significant reinforcements as they look to return to European competition. A quality winger, 바카라사이트 left-back and center-back are felt to be needed.

While full-backs and center-backs are consistent weaknesses, it’s noteworthy that a winger is claimed as a need.

Tottenham have the resources in Son Heung-min, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kuluczewski. Last season, Son was shuffled around, even seeing time up top, but now that Solanke has arrived, he can stick to his job. If he stays at Tottenham, he’ll be a good backup to Solanke. The attacking line looks deep.

However, Tottenham may be feeling uneasy at the back.

Son Heung-min’s contract with Tottenham runs until the summer of 2025. That’s less than a year away. Spurs are said to have an option for a one-year extension, but there’s no word yet on whether they’ve exercised it. Given Son“s age, it”s doubtful that he”ll sign a long-term contract.

In this situation, Spurs are looking for younger wingers. They signed Mikey Moore from the youth team to the first team. They also signed Gangwon FC prospect Yang Min-hyuk. He will join Tottenham next January.

Tottenham also played more games this year. Last season, they didn’t qualify for Europe and were eliminated early from the League Cup, so they only played the Premier League and FA Cup.

This season, however, they’ll be competing in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League. At the very least, you’ll need a double squad if you’re going for one trophy. You need at least one first-team player on the flanks.

As The Guardian says, “Tottenham deserve to win a trophy for the first time since 2008. Whether it’s the Carabao Cup, FA Cup or Europa League, it’s fair to assume they can take anything at this point.
