“Always top class! Great scoring power” Coach Park Tae-ha praised

Pohang Steelers head coach Park Tae-ha praised Son Heung-min after the team’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
Team K-League lost the first game of the ‘2024 Coupang Playoff Series’ against Tottenham Hotspur 3-4 at 8 p.m. on Nov. 31 at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
It was a hard-fought match. Tottenham scored three goals in the first half. In the 28th minute, Son Heung-min’s shot was saved by Cho Hyun-woo, and Dejan Kluczewski pushed it in. Heung-min rattled the net with his trademark winding kick in the 37th minute and added a second goal in the final minute of the first half with a clever one-two pass.
Team K-League fought back in the second half with a number of foreign players. Six minutes into the second half, Jung Jae-hee’s shot was blocked and Ilyuchenko slotted home. Four minutes later, Jeong Jae-hee’s cross was met by a diving header from Ilyuchenko to complete the multi-goal performance.
Tottenham struck again. In the 22nd minute of the second half, Timo Werner sent in a cross from the left flank that Lankshire headed home to double the lead. Team K League pulled one back with a fantastic volley from Oberdan, but no further goals were scored and Spurs held on for a 4-3 victory.
After the match, Park said, “It feels good to show a good game in front of so many fans in the hot weather. I think it will be very helpful for the development of the K League in the future. In the first half, Tottenham’s performance was world-class. In the second half, the foreign K League players showed their competitiveness. Even though we lost, it was a good spectacle,” he said.
“Hwang Mungi showed a good performance. He had good pressing timing up front and showed good defensive reaction. He showed 카지노사이트 confidence and played well offensively,” he said. “We tried to play three more players in the second half, but they struggled,” he added.
Park also gave his assessment of ‘new face’ Yang Min-hyuk, who played against Tottenham. “He just signed a contract and it’s not easy for him to play big games at such a young age. He can’t play well. It was difficult for him to play with other players. I think the skills he showed moment by moment show that he has the potential to improve,” Park said.
“He’s always a top-class player. He has the talent to score at any moment,” he said of Spurs’ performance, adding, “Tactically, they were excellent in terms of penetrating the half-space and transitioning the ball. Their organization was much better, and that’s where we struggled,” he said.
Pohang’s Jeong Jae-hee came on in the second half and showed off his speed and even picked up an assist. “He is a player who can utilize his speed when there is space,” Park said. His performance in the second half showed why he played for Pohang and what role he played. It’s encouraging to see him record an assist alongside his speed,” Park said.
“Not only Hwang Mungi, but also Ilyuchenko, Sejingya, Andersson and others showed good performances in the attacking line. It’s a good development for the team to have players like this in the K League.”
Pohang will host FC Seoul in the resumption of the K League. “Ilyuchenko is always a threat to the opponent. He smells goals well. It’s a lot of pressure. I’m worried that I won’t be more alive in a few days, but I’ll try to play a good game,” he laughed.
“Since he arrived at Tottenham, we play more aggressively. I was impressed with the way they played with more midfielders and trying to get into the half-space,” he concluded.
